Charles Roome McLauglin (DOB: 07/18/85) of San Francisco has been identified as the owner of Brotherhood of Light Recordings, an active Southern Poverty Law Center Designated Hate Group categorized as a Hate Music Label operating since 2009. Brotherhood of Light Recordings primarily puts out National Socialist Black Metal (NSBM), a genre/scene that attempts to recruit from the Black Metal subculture to explicit neo-nazi ideology and the white power movement.
McLaughlin lives above the Hartland Hotel in the Tenderloin District, and is likely responsible for littering his neighborhood with poorly drawn swastikas. He is a member of several NSBM, “Power Electronics Against Communism” (PEAC), and fascist Neofolk projects. He has released NSBM and RAC (Rock Against Communism) projects from the US, Argentina, Austria, Australia, Bosnia/Herzegovina, South Korea, Russia, Finland, France, and Spain on BHoL Recordings. McLaughlin is a member (often the sole member) of bands; Sunchariot, Cosmic Breath 88, Panzerjager, Sturmgraf, Surt, and Svetovid. As Sunchariot, he released the projects debut album on Winter Solace Productions — itself a SPLC recognized hate group. Winter Solace Productions operates out of Marshfield, WI and is ran by Douglas E. Mcquerter a neo-nazi friend of McLaughlins who was previously exposed via the Midgard leak. Both McLaughlin and Mcquerter tie their celebration of NSBM to the broader MAGA movement. As Vinland Special Services (Vinland SS), McQuerter has released music on BHoL and vice versa with McLaughlin’s bands.
We are releasing this information to alert community members in the Tenderloin and Little Saigon neighborhoods to Charles McLaughlin’s formation of an active hate group and nazi propaganda outfit operating in hiding since 2009. McLaughlin’s LinkedIn last lists his job in Delivery and Sales at Sherwin-Williams Paint.
