Nazi Metal Out of Oakland! Black Mountain Cult Booking to host Black Metal show with Nazi ties at Golden Bull Sept. 10

It has recently come to our attention that Black Mountain Cult, Slege, Silvanthrone, and Engendro Malevolo have Neo-Nazi and NSBM/RAC (“National Socialist Black Metal”/”Rock Against Communism”) ties. The upcoming show at Golden Bull proves concerning as various actors involved have direct connections to Neo-Nazi organizers in the black metal scene as well as a seeming affinity for occult and esoteric fascism. Please politely call Golden Bull at 510-224-5522 or email at goldenbullbar[at]gmail[dot]com and ask them to sever ties with Black Mountain Cult booking, and to cancel the upcoming Sept. 10 show.

Engendro Malevolo (San Leandro): One of the bands set to play on the tenth have recently played the “Ancient Rites through Native Pride” NSBM show in LA featuring The Mentors a “rape-rock” and “anti-antifa” band, as well as Pokol a band slated to play the upcoming Rise of the Black Sun organized by Roxy and Nino Mejia of Splendour Solis Prod. The flier for the event was put out with a profile picture depicting the Black Sun, commonly used by Neo-Nazis due to it being less recognizable than a swastika. Like many other acts on the bill, Engendro Malevolo has ties to Nuclear War Now Productions and Iron Bonehead Prod. and played their Never Surrender Fest in 2019.

Slegë (San Jose):  Seemingly the main driving force behind the recent sketchy shows, Jordan Karloff, guitarist of Slegë runsBlack Mountain Cult. Current members Gabe Gabriel, Alex Kristoff Braslinand, and former Slegë member Nicholas Mendiola have significant fascist ties. The group is signed to Signal Rex a Portugese Black Metal label specializing in NSBM. Despite presenting outwardly as USBM (“United States Black Metal”) their NSBM connections appear significant enough for member Alex Kristoff Braslin of Morgan Hill to delete his personal Facebook and erase the majority of his posts on his alt account after Golden Bull was initially reached out to and asked about the upcoming show.

The upcoming show proves especially concerning as Golden Bull also hosts queer and leftist shows often, and will potentially allow esoteric fascists and Nazi metalheads space to organize and recruit in. Golden Bull was initially contacted with much of the above information and said they would ask the performers about it, with the show a day away and no response since, at least one individual, Alex Kristoff Braslin has cleaned up his internet presence. And at the time of this writing the show looks to still be on. Hate music and nazi violence go hand in hand, Wade Michael Page of Blue Eyed Devils (who are listed on some fliers for the upcoming Rise of the Black Sun fest) killed six people at a Sikh Temple in Wisconsin in 2012 after a career playing in Rock Against Communism bands. If the show moves forwards as planned it will likely bring Nazi metalheads out to the streets of Oakland, don’t allow subcultural fascist space to organize.
